The police force in February said the woman left but Mr Fenwick failed to meet her later at an oval as planned.

Several land searches were conducted with some of his personal items located and now subject to forensic examination.

Detectives are renewing their appeal for anyone who may have information about Mr Fenwick's disappearance to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or call the Newcastle City police station directly on (02) 4929 0999.
