Mine opponents rally at NSW parliament
AAP
A petition signed by more than 16,000 people opposing a proposed coal mine within a Sydney water catchment area is due to be debated in the NSW parliament.
Signatories fear the planned underground mine beneath the Southern Highlands will undermine the harbour city's water supply.
Opponents of the Berrima mine are expected to rally outside parliament on Thursday afternoon before the petition is debated inside.
