Man suffers burns in suspicious fire

A man has been taken to hospital after a suspicious fire ripped through a home in Sydney's west.

Police found the man, aged in his 30s, nearby after firefighters had controlled the blaze on Royena Way at Blacktown on Saturday morning.

He was taken to Westmead Hospital suffering burns and is helping police with their investigation.

A crime scene has been set up with specialist firefighters attending.
