Man stabbed in Sydney unit fight

A man who allegedly tried to kill his 22-year-old neighbour at a unit in Sydney's west has turned himself in to police.

The pair were arguing inside a unit in South Penrith on Friday evening when the 44-year-old man stabbed the younger man with a kitchen knife, police say.

The victim was taken to Westmead Hospital with non-life threatening stab wounds to his chest, shoulder and armpit.

The older man was later charged with attempted murder after he presented himself to Penrith Police Station on Friday night.

He will appear at Parramatta Local Court on Saturday.
