Man shot and stabbed in northwest Sydney

A man has been shot in the foot and stabbed in the arm in Sydney's northwest.

Police say that shortly after midnight on Sunday officers were called to Adamson Ave in Dundas Valley following reports of shots being fired.

They found a man, believed to be aged in his 40s, with a gunshot wound to his right foot and lacerations to his arm and shoulder.

He was treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

A crime scene has been established and Adamson Avenue is closed while investigations take place.
