Man's finger severed in NSW knife attack

A man's finger has been severed in a knife attack, south of Newcastle.
Police say the stabbing happened at Lake Macquarie on Thursday, with emergency services called about 1.30pm.
A 25-year-old man was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to John Hunter Hospital with several cuts to his arms and legs and a severed finger.
