NSW man dies in suspected quad bike crash

A man has died on his Hunter Valley property in a suspected quad bike crash, the third in NSW in the past week.

The 60-year-old left his Blandford home around 6pm on Saturday but didn't return.

His family tried in vain to find him before emergency services used a helicopter to search the property.

The man's body was found on Sunday morning, with investigators believing he died after crashing his quad bike.

His death comes after two people were killed in separate quad bike crashes last Sunday.

A 60-year-old man died in the NSW central west town of Sofala, while a six-year-old girl was killed after crashing a quad-bike into a tree at Pilliga in the state's northwest.

The NSW government last Thursday announced it would double a rebate to $1000 to help farmers buy protective equipment including helmets.

Three people have died in quad bike crashes in NSW this year.
