Man narrowly escapes crash

A motorbike rider is in a critical condition after he crashed into parked cars and a brick wall in Sydney's inner west.

The 29-year-old man had to be airlifted to hospital after his bike caught fire on Burwood Rd, Concord, at about 4pm on Thursday.

The man was knocked unconscious and left with serious fractures to his arms and legs.

He also suffered chest and abdominal injuries.

After being stabilised he was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital to undergo emergency surgery.
