Man mauled by dogs in Sydney

A man has suffered serious facial injuries after being mauled by his two dogs while trying to break up a fight between them.

The man, aged in his 70s, was attempting to the stop the dogs fighting when he was bitten at Mount Pritchard in Sydney's southwest on Sunday afternoon.

He was treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital.

The man's dogs remain at his home, but police will be in contact with the local council regarding the seizure of the animals.
