Man injured as tractor rolls down NSW hill

A man has been injured after a tractor rolled down an embankment near Port Kembla south of Sydney.

Emergency services were called to Whimbrel Avenue in Lake Heights after 9am on Tuesday and paramedics treating the man before he was taken to hospital, a Fire and Rescue NSW spokeswoman told AAP.

The tractor flipped down the embankment and started leaking diesel. A heavy rescue crew was sent out "to prop up the tractor" while a Hazmat team worked to contain the spill.
