Man hits two police cars during chase

Two police cars have been hit during the pursuit of a stolen vehicle in Sydney's west.

Officers identified the car as stolen and gave chase in Villawood on Monday afternoon.

After the car turned into a driveway they parked their patrol car across the entrance to prevent it leaving.

But the car reversed into the patrol car before driving along the footpath where it hit another police car and a parked car before stopping, police said.

A man and a woman who were in the car were arrested after a short foot chase.

A 27-year-old man has been charged with a driving, stealing and drug offences and has been refused bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court on Tuesday.

A 23-year-old woman was released pending further inquiries.
