Man dies on Sydney beach after heart alert
A man has died after being pulled unconscious from the water on Sydney's Northern Beaches.
NSW Ambulance responded to reports of a person in cardiac arrest at Bilgola Beach after 5pm on Tuesday.
Paramedics performed CPR on the 28-year-old man who was pulled from the water by members of the public, NSW Ambulance said in a statement on Tuesday evening.
"Paramedics worked tirelessly with other emergency services, but despite their best efforts, nothing further could be done," the agency said.
"This a tragic event for everyone involved," NSW Ambulance Inspector Ronald Mawhinney said in a statement.
"Paramedics, with the assistance of lifesavers and police, did everything they could to resuscitate the man, but unfortunately he could not be revived."
