Man dies at NSW beach

A man has died after being pulled from the surf at Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle.

Lifesavers brought the man to shore at Catherine Hill Bay about 9.30am on Saturday after reports he had fallen into the water while rock fishing.

He died at the scene and no information about his identity is available yet, police say.
