Elderly man dies after being hit by car in Sydney's west overnight

A man has died in hospital after he was struck by a car last night in Sydney’s west.

Police were called to the scene around 9.40pm after the 60-year-old man was struck by a Nissan Pulsar being driven by a 65-year-old woman.

The man was struck down as he was crossing Prairie Vale Road at Bossley Park.

He died in Liverpool Hospital early this morning after suffering critical head injuries.

The driver was also taken to hospital where she underwent mandatory blood and urine testing
