Man dead after boat capsizes off NSW coast

A man has died after his boat capsized in the Hunter region of NSW.

Two men had been travelling in a boat about 10am on Saturday in waters close to Broughton Island, near Nelson Bay, when their boat overturned.

Both men were thrown into the water without life jackets.

One man died while the other was able to swim to land and was rescued by a Westpac Helicopter.
