Man dies after NSW police pursuit

A man has died in hospital after a police pursuit in the central tablelands of NSW.

Police say two men were in a stolen Hyundai SUV when they crashed the vehicle just after 1pm on Wednesday in South Bathurst following a chase.

Both men were taken to Bathurst Hospital - a 35-year-old suffering critical injuries and the 33-year-old with serious injuries.

The 35-year-old later died in hospital.

A critical incident team is investigating the incident including the pursuit.

That investigation itself will be subject to an independent review.
