Man charged with using rock to bash man

A backyard family fight has left one man in hospital and another charged with assault.

Police say the two men, 27 and 30, began to fight in the backyard of their Bonnyrigg home on shortly after midnight on Sunday.

The younger man collapsed and was taken to hospital in a critical condition after the older man allegedly bashed him with a rock.

Police have charged the 30-year-old with recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm and he will appear at Fairfield Local Court on Monday.
