Man charged with murder in NSW stabbing

A man has been charged with murder over the stabbing death of another man near Kempsey on the NSW Mid North Coast.

Police discovered the body of a 54-year-old man at a home at Dondingalong, at 9.15pm on Friday.

Half an hour later, emergency services were called to a single vehicle crash nearby on the same road and a man, believed to be aged about 40, was taken to hospital under police guard.

After he was released from hospital on Monday, the alleged attacker was charged with murder and refused bail to appear at Kempsey Local Court later on Tuesday.

Inquiries are continuing.
