A man accused of trying to abduct a toddler from a western Sydney shopping centre has been refused bail.
The two-year-old girl's parents intervened after the man allegedly tried to take their daughter from a playground inside a Penrith shopping centre about 2.30pm on Wednesday, police said in a statement.
Anthony McGauley was arrested later at a home in Penrith and charged with attempting to abduct the child.
