Man charged with accessory to NSW murder

Police have charged a man with being an accessory to murder in connection with the disappearance of a NSW Central Coast man in 1995.

Ronald Penn, 61, was last seen at a house in Bateau Bay on October 12, 1995.

Two weeks later, on October 27, his white Mazda van was found burnt out in bushland on Berkeley Road, Berkeley Vale.

In May this year, detectives were investigating links between Mr Penn's suspected murder and the shooting of a 24-year-old woman near Wyong Local Court on November 21, 1995.

The woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to Gosford Hospital. She was later released.

A 60-year-old man was arrested and charged over that shooting on May 15.

After further investigations, officers on Friday attended a Silverwater address where they arrested and charged a 43-year-old man with accessory after the fact to murder, steal motor vehicle, receive stolen property and damage property by fire.

He's due to appear before Gosford Local Court on November 7.
