Man charged over threats to Nationals

A man has been been charged for allegedly threatening NSW Nationals staffers amid revelations that dozens of party members are being investigated over their links to neo-Nazi groups.

The 55-year-old is alleged to have phoned the party's Pitt Street headquarters and threatened staff at about 10.45am on Monday.

Police said the man was arrested at a Chippendale home on Tuesday morning and charged with using a carriage service to threaten, harass and intimidate.

He was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear in the Downing Centre Local Court on November 21.

The threats come as dozens of Nationals are being investigated by the party over far-right links.

Up to 20 members are reportedly facing expulsion, after people involved in the alt-right movement were found to have joined the Young Nationals.
