Second man arrested after Sydney assault

A second man has been arrested over a brutal attack where a man was repeatedly kicked on a Sydney footpath in January.

A 27-year-old Queensland man was arrested at around 11am on Wednesday over the attack on a 39-year-old man in Parramatta on the night of January 25.

The victim was walking along Victoria Road when he noticed three men following him, and after stopping at a bus stop he was allegedly assaulted.

The 27-year-old is at Parramatta Police Station where he is assisting police.

On Tuesday a 19-year-old man was charged with reckless wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm and is expected to face Penrith Local Court on Wednesday.

It's understood his mother handed him in to Windsor Police Station after graphic surveillance footage of the attack was released by police.

Investigations to identify the third man are ongoing.
