Man charged over Guildford siege

A man has been charged over a domestic siege in Sydney's west, that forced a local school into lockdown.

Police were called to a home in Guildford on Wednesday afternoon following reports of a domestic dispute, to find a woman outside along with a loaded gun.

They established a perimeter and placed Guildford Public School into lockdown as a precaution, before forcing entry to the home and arresting the man almost five hours later.

The 34-year-old has been charged with common assault and possess unauthorised firearm, and was expected to appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Thursday.
