Man charged for NSW police assault

A man has been charged over the alleged assault of three police officers during an incident in Sydney's north eastern suburbs.

Emergency services were called to a Collaroy property on May 13 following reports of a man behaving erratically.

It's alleged the man violently resisted five police officers and NSW Ambulance paramedics as they attempted to get him into an ambulance for medical assistance, police said on Tuesday.

A constable was allegedly bitten on the shoulder during the incident while another allegedly suffered scratches.

The 20-year-old man was arrested on Monday and now faces three police assault charges.

He was refused bail and is expected to appear in Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday.
