Man charged after violent litter argument

A man faces drug charges after police tracked him down for allegedly punching a motorist who honked his horn at him for throwing rubbish out of his car on the NSW Central Coast.

Police say a 29-year-old man was driving through Woy Woy shortly before 10pm on Sunday when he noticed rubbish being thrown from the vehicle in front of him.

When he honked his horn, the other car stopped and blocked his way and a man got out.

The man allegedly punched the 29-year-old through his open car window, grabbed his keys from the ignition then punched the victim twice more, giving him a bloody nose.

He then allegedly left with the car keys.

Following a review of CCTV footage and other inquiries, police on Thursday executed a search warrant at a home in Umina Beach, allegedly seizing prohibited drugs, a large amount of cash and clothing relevant to the investigation.

Police arrested a 19-year-old man at the premises and charged him with robbery, two counts of possessing a prohibited drug and possessing a prescribed restricted substance.

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Woy Woy Local Court on June 9.
