Man charged after NSW home invasion

A man has been charged after a violent home invasion in NSW's Hunter Region which police say may have been targeted.
Two men armed with a knife and a bat allegedly forced their way into a home in Medowie, near Port Stephens, at around midnight on Monday, according to police.
They threatened the occupants, cutting a 23-year-old woman on the arm, before stealing property and fleeing.

Police arrested a 33-year-old man nearby and allegedly found some of the stolen property on him.
He was refused bail and will appear at Newcastle Local Court on September 7.
