He was refused bail and is expected to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.

Police were called to the home in Ryde just after midnight on Sunday, following a fight among young partygoers that left six males and a female with stab wounds.

Aidan Smith, 16, was rushed to Westmead Hospital but died just a few hours later.

His sister penned an emotional tribute to the teen through a Facebook post, saying she "couldn't have asked for a better brother".

"Just wanted to say that I love you with all my heart Aidan and I'm so sorry this had to happen to you," she wrote.

"R.I.P my baby brother still cannot believe this has happened."
