Man caught holding 1.1kg cocaine pellets

A man has been nabbed at Sydney Airport attempting to internally smuggle 110 pellets of cocaine - more than a kilo of the drug.

Australian Border Force say when they targeted the 48-year-old after a flight from Thailand for a baggage examination last week he said he was carrying an illicit substance internally.

An Australian resident of Thailand, he subsequently passed 46 pellets and was then taken to hospital where a further 64 pellets were obtained - totalling approximately 1.1 kilos of cocaine, Australian Federal Police said. He will face court on Wednesday.
