AAP
A man who was viciously bashed in Sydney's west will spend the night in hospital with serious facial injuries.
The man, 37, was walking to work near Queen Street, St Marys, early on Tuesday when he was set upon by three males, who hit him repeatedly with a cricket bat and stole his wallet and mobile phone, the Seven Network reported.
He was left severely bloodied and suffering suspected facial fractures while the trio fled down Phillip Street.

Police were told males left the scene in a grey Range Rover but said they wanted to talk to anyone who may have witnessed the attack.
The victim was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition, where he is expected to spend the night.
