Sydney man arrested over upskirting photos

A middle-aged man has been arrested at Sydney's Central Station for allegedly taking upskirt photos of a female train passenger.

The 30-year victim was getting off the train as it came to a stop when a man allegedly used his phone to take two photos up the woman's skirt as she walked down the stairs from the train's upper carriage about 1pm (AEST) yesterday, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

A passenger who saw what had happened told the woman and she immediately confronted the 46-year-old man and asked to see his phone.

The woman then watched as the man deleted two images, according to police.

Officers arrived a short time later and arrested the man and seized his phone.

Other photos and videos of unidentified female victims were allegedly found on his phone.

The man has been charged with two counts of filming a person's private parts.

He was bailed and will appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on October 15.
