Siege underway in Sydney's west

A siege is currently underway in Western Sydney with heavily armed officers surrounding a home.

Police have said a ‘person of interest’ is holed up inside the Maude Street property in Fairfield but for operational reasons won’t release any more details.

NSW Police have the specialist BEARCAT truck and riot squad officers currently stationed outside.

It’s believed there is nobody else inside the house.

It’s unknown if the man is armed.
