Huxley killer appeals against NSW sentence

The young killer of Sydney businessman Morgan Huxley is appealing against his sentence for the 2013 stabbing murder.

Daniel Jack Kelsall, 24, did not appear in the NSW Supreme Court when the matter was mentioned on Thursday, more than two years after he was sentenced to at least 30 years in prison.

A hearing was scheduled for August 21.

A jury in March 2015 took about three hours to find Kelsall guilty of indecently assaulting and murdering Mr Huxley, 31, at his Neutral Bay flat in the early hours of September 8, 2013.

The following month Justice Robert Allan Hulme sentenced Kelsall to a maximum of 40 years and three months behind bars.
