Hunter man arrested on child sex charges

A Hunter region man will face a NSW court charged with multiple counts of child sexual assault of three female relatives.

The 58-year-old was arrested on Monday night and charged with 12 counts of aggravated sexual assault in relation to two girls, aged five and seven.

They had reportedly been assaulted over a 12-month period, police were told.

The man was also charged with a count of aggravated indecent assault in relation to another relative, aged six.

He was refused bail and will appear at Maitland Local Court on Tuesday.
