Hunter dies in quad bike accident

A man has died in a quad bike accident while out hunting on a rural property near Cobar in NSW's central west.

Police say the 69-year-old Pymble man was reported missing on Friday and his body was found by officers searching the property on Saturday.

"It is believed the man had been riding his quad bike on the property when he hit a tree stump, lost control and flipped through the air with the bike landing on top of him," police said in a statement.

A crime scene has been established and will be examined by specialist forensic officers on Sunday before police prepare a report for the coroner.
