Human remains found in bushland near Wollongong

Police are appealing for information after human remains were found in bushland near Wollongong on Sunday.

Police were called to bushland near Koloona Avenue at Mount Keira after being alerted to the find.

A crime scene was established and the remains have been sent for forensic analysis.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

A post mortem examination will determine the circumstances of death and the identity of the remains.

Police are reviewing missing person’s reports as part of their investigations.
