Hospital workers in shock after $5m win

Heart checks may be needed for eight lucky Newcastle hospital workers who netted $5 million in Tuesday night's lotto.

The John Hunter hospital staff, aged between 30 and 60, still turned up for work and even though they were in shock on Wednesday, the syndicate leader told Oz Lotto.

"We are all usually hard-working staff but we've been hardly working this morning after I realised we'd won and I told the others!" she laughed.

Many of the workers plan to use their winnings to pay off their mortgages.
