Holidaymakers urged to get emergency app
AAP
Holiday makers about to set off for a Christmas break are being urged to download a NSW emergency services application before leaving.
The Emergency+ free smartphone app uses GPS and helps emergency services to pinpoint a caller's location.
"Sometimes mobile phone users are not aware of their physical location - making it difficult for emergency call operators to dispatch emergency services," Fire & Rescue NSW Deputy Commissioner Jim Hamilton said on Monday.
