Harrison drops court battle with Seven

One-time executive assistant Amber Harrison has abandoned a legal battle with her former employer, Seven West Media, days before she was scheduled to be heard in a Sydney court.

Ms Harrison took to social media on Friday afternoon to declare she had made a "realistic assessment" of the case and had chosen not to run it.

"I've asked my legal team not to represent me," she said.

Ms Harrison has apologised to the other women whose names were dragged into the dispute, which involved her speaking about her affair with Seven West Media boss Tim Worner and releasing company documents.

The NSW Supreme Court earlier this year heard Ms Harrison signed a confidentiality agreement with Seven in 2014, for which she was to allegedly be paid $242,500.

The company argued Ms Harrison breached that agreement when she released a statement, gave media interviews and disclosed an email from Seven's commercial director to board members about an Australian Federal Police raid on the company's offices.
