Guthrie, ABC reach dismissal resolution

The ABC and sacked managing director Michelle Guthrie have reached a resolution over her lawsuit claiming unfair dismissal.

ABC News director Gaven Morris on Friday made the announcement on Twitter saying a resolution had been made in relation to the Federal Court litigation.

"The details of the resolution will remain confidential. No further public statement will be made," Mr Morris tweeted.

Federal Court judge Jayne Jagot at a case management hearing last month ordered the ABC and Ms Guthrie into mediation.

Ms Guthrie, who was fired in September halfway through her five-year-term, was suing the national broadcaster over her sacking.

She also named former chairman Justin Milne and three current board directors as respondents in the action.

Ms Guthrie claimed she was unfairly dismissed and her firing was "invalid".
