Guns, fireworks seized in NSW bikie raid

Guns, knuckle dusters, cannabis and fireworks have been seized by NSW police after bikie-related raids on homes northwest of Sydney.

A 60-year-old man was arrested on Thursday following the two-day operation in Mudgee and charged with a string of offences including possessing an unregistered firearm.

Officers who searched his Windeyer property allegedly found a self-loading .22-calibre rifle, magazines, ammunition, knuckle dusters, a firework and cannabis.

The man was due to appear in Mudgee Local Court on Friday.

The operation also resulted in firearm prohibition orders being served on five men - two 27-year-olds and three others aged 30, 49 and 58 - after raids on their properties also turned up guns, ammunition, cannabis, fireworks and bikie colours.

Superintendent Tony Joice said police issued eight consorting warnings, six traffic infringement notices and one defect notice.

"We will not tolerate public acts of violence - or any activity - that creates fear and puts the safety of our community at risk," Supt Joice said in a statement.
