Greens slam film's Sydney balloon stunt

The marketers behind the red balloons tied to stormwater drains in the Sydney CBD to promote a new Stephen King movie has been slammed by the Greens.

Senator Peter Whish-Wilson says the balloons will kill marine life, suggesting the NSW Environmental Protection Authority fine promoters Village Roadshow for each balloon.

"When I saw photos of the red helium balloons tied to stormwater drains in Sydney I was furious ... when balloons end up in the ocean they float and get swallowed by seabirds, dolphins, whales and turtles," the senator said.
