Great white shark spotted off Bondi Beach

A Great White Shark has been spotted metres off the coast of Sydney’s Bondi Beach on Tuesday morning, bringing swift action from local lifeguards.

Chilling footage posted to social media by DroneSharkApp shows the moment the shark is spotted off the coast, before lifeguards promptly respond sounding the alarm.

In the post, the popular shark spotting account, said that they noticed plenty of salmon swimming around Bondi Beach while monitoring beach conditions and saw the shark metres off the coast shortly after.

“At first, I wasn’t completely certain, but I was about 90 per cent sure it was a [great] white shark. After reviewing the 4K footage, that identification was confirmed,” DroneSharkApp said.

“The lifeguards did a great job responding quickly and sounding the alarm to help keep everyone safe.”

The sighting comes just 10 days after Leah Stewart was left in a critical condition after being mauled by a shark at nearby Coogee Beach.
