Garbage truck on fire in south-west Sydney

A garbage truck has gone up in flames in Sydney's south-west, causing traffic disruption.

Firefighters are working to extinguish the blaze in Glenfield after the truck's engine caught on fire, spreading throughout the body of the vehicle on Friday afternoon.

Police are at the scene and are navigating traffic conditions with Canterbury Road closed in both directions.
