Four NSW police officers accused of lying under oath over the shooting of a mentally ill man have been found not guilty of perjury.

Adam Salter, 36, was shot dead by police while trying to stab himself at his Lakemba house in November 2009.

Police officers Sheree Bissett, Emily Metcalfe, Leah Wilson and Aaron Abela faced a District Court trial accused of lying to the Police Integrity Commission about what happened, but Judge Greg Woods on Thursday delivered not guilty verdicts.
