Confessed pedophile and former Bega Cheese boss Maurice Van-Ryn is due to find out if he can remain on bail ahead of his sentencing next year.

The 59-year-old NSW south coast businessman controversially avoided being sent immediately to jail two weeks ago despite pleading guilty to multiple sexual and indecent assaults on children.

Van-Ryn may now also get to spend Christmas with his family if they can secure $700,000 surety, and on the condition he wears an electronic tag.

NSW Attorney-General Brad Hazzard described news of Mr Van-Ryn's bail in late November as "extremely concerning".

His bail review is expected to be heard at Downing Centre District court on Wednesday.

He is due to be sentenced on February 2.
