Flaming garbage truck forces evacuations

Up to 20 homes have been evacuated after a western Sydney garbage truck went up in flames.

The truck caught fire shortly after 8am on Friday on Braxton Road at Lidcombe, Fire and Rescue NSW said.

Police had evacuated up to 20 houses and fire crews were still battling the blaze mid-morning.
