Up to 25 firefighters extinguish blaze in Sydney office building

Firefighters have stopped a blaze which broke out in a Sydney office building and spread to the roof.

Around 25 firefighters were involved in bringing the fire under control at an address on Bronte Road in Waverley around 8.30pm.

It is believed the fire started in a single storey rear office in the building.

NSW Fire & Rescue crews prevented the inferno from spreading to the building’s front two storey section and adjoining buildings.

An ambulance was called to a nearby address where an elderly resident complained their unit had filled with smoke, believed to be from the fire.
