Firefighters contain Sydney unit blaze

Firefighters have gained control of a fire on top of a three-storey unit block in Sydney's southwest.

Three people were evacuated from the premises along with the rest of the building's residents.

Six fire crews arrived at the Bankstown complex on Monday afternoon to find the top floor home well alight.

It took crews around half an hour to contain the blaze.

The unit's occupants are undergoing medical check-ups.
