Fire destroys bridge machinery in Lismore

A forklift and a boat being used to restore a bridge have been destroyed by fire in northern NSW.

Three firefighter crews attended the scene at Elliot Road in Lismore on Tuesday night after reports that equipment at the bridge was alight.

Crews were able to contain the fire and oil spills.

A Lismore Fire Station spokesman said on Wednesday it was not known how the fire started but Roads and Maritime services have been notified.
