Firefighters control Sydney factory blaze

Firefighters battling a blaze at a shopfitting business in Sydney's southeast have gained the upper hand.

The fire tore through the roof of the two-storey Botany building and threatened two neighbouring properties before crews managed to contain it.

About 80 firefighters fought the blaze, which forced the closure of Botany Road and surrounding streets.

Its cause is still to be determined.

There were no reported injuries.
